Sam Lopez - Business Office
Sam Lopez was born in Lima, Peru on September 9, 1961. He grew up in Santa Ana, California where he went to school at Santiago Elementary through the fourth grade. Sam transferred to Orangewood Academy to begin the fifth grade and graduated from here in 1980. Sam was class pastor his ninth grade year, class treasurer in 10th and 12th, and vice president in the 11th.
Sam continued his education at UC Irvine where he graduated with a B. S. in biology and a B. A. in psychology in 1985. In the 1985-86 school year, Sam attended Southwestern Adventist College to get his Adventist teaching credential. Sam taught at Roseburg Junior Academy in Roseburg, Oregon for two years before returning to Orange County. Upon returning home, Sam substitute taught at Orangewood and at Fullerton SDA School.
Sam had worked in billing and collections for a law office and for a doctor's office. In August of 1995, Sam began his work in the Orangewood Academy business office. Sam is responsible for student billing as well as numerous other business office activities. Sam enjoys the people he works with and for.
Sam has been married to his wife, Michele since 1993. They have two children, Ryan and Meagan who are students here at Orangewood. They live in Fullerton, with their dog Zoe. The entire Lopez family are huge Angels baseball fans and are often available to use extra tickets that are just going to get wasted if nobody uses them.
The Lopez's believe strongly in Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. Having the same values and beliefs taught at home, church, and school makes raising a family more uniform and complete.
