Audry Whan - Director of Sunrise Preschool
Audry is the Director of the preschool and teacher in the Pre-K classroom. She graduated from Orangewood Academy in 1972.
She states, "My years at OA were good, I continue to have two best friends from Orangewood still in my life today. I married my academy sweetheart and had 2 beautiful daughters."
Audry received an Associate of Arts degree from Loma Linda University in Child & Family Science in 1975. She has always loved working with children and worked several years in "Early Achievement Centers" as Assistant Director and Teacher before having children of her own.
She then worked for 16 years as a church secretary and children's ministry director for the Irvine and Garden Grove SDA churches.
In 1999, at the tender age of 45, she went back to school and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. After graduating she worked in Social work with an agency presenting parenting classes.
A year later, she accepted a job as director of the Azure Hills Children's Center commuting to the Riverside area from Orange County.
Audry came to Sunrise Christian Preschool almost 5 years ago. She continues to enjoy working with young children, as they make her smile and give her joy.
Audry states, "I love researching exciting ways to make learning fun for my class of little ones. I encourage this for all the teachers at the preschool."
She recently married again two yearrs ago to an event planner and runner so she has gotten involved in many of his activities, mainly the 5K races that he puts on.
She enjoys spending time with her husband as they both like to entertain and often have friends over. She says, "spending time with my daughters is a special treat, and I'm fortunate they live nearby and we are close.
Audry loves the beach, Lake Havasu, water skiing, gardening, reading & walking. Besides her job, she is involved in the Women's Ministries program at her church and tries hard to work out a couple of times a week with a Jazzercise instructor.
In closing, Audry states - "the Lord has given me a full and meaningful life, I have much to be thankful for."
