Ruben A. Escalante - Principal
Married to Penny, and the father of Amanda, Ruben (Janelle), and Robert, Ruben is a proud grandfather to Elyse. Born in Calexico, California and educated in the finest Southern California preparatory schools, Ruben graduated with collegiate and graduate degrees from Loma Linda University and Andrews University. He is presently working on a Masters in Education degree at La Sierra University.
His prior experience includes work as a Seminary Student President, Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, College Chaplain, Elementary Teacher, Middle School Teacher, High School Teacher, College Professor, Principal
Ruben has made it his purpose as a minister and an educator to present a positive, practical, and powerful picture of God that changes lives through that very personal experience. His dream for Orangewood is for it to become a beacon of education at the highest level, and a model of what Adventist Education can produce-graduates that are responsible, respectful, and accustomed to the rigors of an education that engenders well-rounded individuals prepared for service to humanity and to God's kingdom. He believes in "Education with a Higher Purpose."
His favorite verse in the Bible is Romans 8:28 (More Than Conquerors) which reads, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
