Kelly Mann – MS English/Reading

Kelly Mann grew up in Sacramento and attended Sacramento Adventist Academy from kindergarten through 12th grade. After she graduated from high school in 1997, she attended Pacific Union College where she took a year off to teach 2nd grade as a student missionary in Pohnpei, Micronesia. She graduated from PUC with her B.A. in liberal studies in 2002.

After she graduated, she was offered a job as an enrollment counselor/recruiter for Pacific Union College. Because she loves traveling so much, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to travel all over the country visiting Adventist schools and talking to high school students about the importance of going to college.

After three years of recruiting, she decided to settle down and do what she is most passionate about: teaching. She taught for two years at Napa Christian in Napa, California, and in June 2007, she moved to Southern California to marry her husband and began teaching at Orangewood Academy.

"I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach in an Adventist school because I believe that the most important thing in life is having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Being able to share that with my students and pray with them along with teaching them the academic part gives teaching so much meaning for me. I am very happy to be working at Orangewood. Every teacher here is committed to helping each of their students reach their academic potential while at the same time, teaching them about God's love. Having teachers like that made a difference in my own life, and now I hope to make the same difference in the lives of my students."
